Stanmore finished one place above the drop zone in Middlesex County Cricket League Division One after being beaten by eight wickets against Brondesbury.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Stanmore’s batsmen failed to build on positive starts early in the order.
Opener Steve Mehra was dismissed on 11 while Tim Percival scored 15 off ten balls before being caught.
The tail wagged though and Kunal Mehta (51) scored a valuable half century and was ably supported by Marc Reingold.
Stanmore eventually reached a modest total 153 all out from their 51.1 overs.
The Brondesbury reply saw 30 runs scored before Abishek Kulkami bowled Will Vanderspar for eight.
But James Overy (66 not out) produced a fine partnership with Tom Simpson (65) to put the home side on the brink of victory.
Despite Mehta claiming Simpson leg before wicket, Byron Vermaak (five not out) helped see the hosts home in 34 overs.
