Barnet boss Martin Allen praised the battling qualities of his new charges.
The Bees came from 2-0 down to earn a point against table-toppers Chesterfield this evening, sub Sam Deering grabbing a brace.
Allen said: "Didn't the players play well. They have been absolutely fantastic since I have come to this club - their attitude and dedication has been first class. They have been an inspiration to me. They showed so much unity and spirit in the second half.
"I'm very proud of them."
On his appointment as boss, Allen said: "I haven't been applying for jobs and asking for jobs. It was weird when I took the phone call (from chairman Tony Kleanthous) and weird coming to the game today...but it's great coming back to Barnet."
