Hendon U18s bounced back from the disappointment of their Cheshunt Youth League Cup exit at the hands of Whitewebbs Eagles to record an 8–0 trouncing over William Fitt in the Cheshunt Youth League.
Welcoming back skipper Steven Gonzalez in the heart of midfield and central defender Shoto Nene made a huge difference to the overall performance and attitude.
Corey STEWART opened the scoring after 12 minutes and, seven minutes later, a brilliant piece of control and a calm finish brought Bradley AMBROSE his first goal.
Ivan TIHATI extended the lead eight minutes before the interval, but Hendon were far from finished with their first-half scoring.
A brilliant strike from STEWART brought him a second goal after 41 minutes and, moments before the whistle, AMBROSE bagged his second.
The race to complete a hat-trick was won by AMBROSE, who scored in the 56th minute. Twelve minutes later, STEWART was also celebrating a three-time and Hendon rounded off the scoring with their eighth, from Hasan DUGUNYURDU, 11 minutes from the end.
“I am very pleased with the football we played today,” said joint manager Jason Fevrier. “Some of our passing was outstanding. My man of the match was Steven GONZALEZ who controlled the game from midfield and was a great leader.”
