Wingate & Finchley U15s reached the London County Cup final with a 7-2 romp over Danson Sports.
Having already netted 34 times in the competition in previous rounds, their goalscoring exploits did not let up as they comfortably secured a final spot at Mile End Stadium.
The team look to make it to the Middlesex County Cup final next Sunday as they face St Lawrence in the last four.
Following a League & Cup double in 2009/10 in their first season in The Eastern Junior Alliance League, the U15s capped a remarkable season by winning the All Cities Elite Shield which sees all the top teams from around the UK outside of the professional game compete in a weekend tournament.
They also sit nicely in 3rd place in the League with games in hand over the top two. With both U16 and U18 teams also looking forward to upcoming County Cup Semi-Finals, it is a clear indication that the focus the club put on their youth structure is paying off.
Vice chair David Thrilling commented: “We are delighted with the success of our youth teams again this season. This season has also seen over 20 boys represent their county at U16 and U18 level in addition to players who have progressed to professional academies. We pride ourselves on providing the best environment possible and our facilities and quality of coaches are second to none outside of the Football League. Youth players here have the opportunity to progress their football career and education, and the success of the whole club over the past few seasons is testament to chairman Aron Sharpe who has turned the club around in such a short space of time.”
