Barnet remain in the bottom two after a frustrating week.

Defeat at home to Southend United on Saturday was followed up by the half-time abandonment at Aldershot Town due to fog on Tuesday night, with the teams level at 1-1.

Mark Marshall had given the Bees an eighth-minute lead at the Recreation Ground, only for ex-Bee Anthony Charles to equalise on the half-hour for the Shots.

But the fog got worse and the match officials decided to call it a day during the interval.

The focus is now on Saturday's tough trip to Northampton Town.

The Cobblers warmed up for the match at Sixfields by hitting on-form Crewe Alexandra for six on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Barnet's 2-0 defeat to another in-form side, Southend, on Saturday left caretaker boss Paul Fairclough 'gutted'.

It ended a four-match unbeaten run.

But Fairclough said: "I am not going to let the result unravel the good work that has gone into the last four matches."

He added: "We need to start performing when we are under pressure. No-one is going to help us, apart from ourselves."

The transfer window slammed shut on Monday night, with no new faces coming to Underhill.

Fairclough admitted it was difficult to entice new players when the club are sitting in the bottom two. He also added that many were too expensive.

However, midfielder Glenn Poole this week left the club after having his contract terminated.

Poole only played a handful of games following his summer move to Underhill.

There was at least some good news for Barnet this week. Striker Steve Kabba returned to training on Monday and should be available for the trip to Northampton.

It will give Fairclough the option of pairing Kabba with Izale McLeod up front. The two experienced strikers should become a major force at League Two level.
