With his performers aiming for the London Olympics, a national boccia coach from Potters Bar has been crowned the Sport Wales Coach of the Year for 2010.
Former Paralympian and Boccia Wales head coach Peter Pearse, 39, earned the accolade at the annual ceremony in Cardiff last night.
In 2010, his squad won countless titles across the UK and Europe, and his players are on the GB fast-track programme aiming for a place at London 2012.
Pearse said: “It is a reflection of the hard work and success of the athletes I coach that is most pleasing.
“There are so many positive aspects to being a coach, particularly empowering individuals through boccia."
