Hendon started equal bottom of their league, but this win takes them up three places to 8th position with the addition of a bonus point for their five tries.

The home side were uphill in the first half with the forwards pushing forward with their superior weight. After 15 minutes captain Lee Linale slotted over the first penalty for 3-0.

Then with a team move the forwards engaged in a ruck/maul manoavre upfield to the Actonian 22. The ball was spun out wide with all the backline handling and winger Neave finished with the try in the corner for 8-0.

Midfield play ensued with Actonians getting themselves into the game and, with a penalty, they were on the scoresheet.

On the half-hour, the Hendon pack, with 2nd row Connell and Lennon dominating, pushed from the 22 to the 5 mtre line, with hooker Curry going blind to score a Linale converted try.

With only a minute left to the interval, Hendon's pack were held up short in several attempts to cross the line but winger Joe Haugie was on hand to crash over in the corner, with Linale converting from the touch for the home outfit to go 22-3 up.

Into the second half and although downhill, Hendon took their foot off the pedal and allowed Actonians into the game. Hendon conceded two penalties for Actonians to close the scoreline to 22-9.

Hendon regained the advantage after 20 minutes to camp on the Actonians line, with Mutuma eventually going over for a Linale converted try.

In the closing minutes, Joel Curry was pushed over the line by his pack from a lineout to score the last try, convertd by Linale.

This Saturday Hendon travel to Verulamians in St Albans in a rearranged league match.
