Finchley super-heavyweight Anthony Joshua secured a lucrative training contract for the London 2012 Olympics with his win at the Great Britain amateur boxing championships.
The event was broadcast on BBC TV.
Trainer John Oliver said: “It will make a world of difference to him because training is now his job. He doesn’t have to fit it around a day job.”
Elsewhere at the club, newly-crowned middleweight Sam Patrick and heavyweight Ben Illeyemi will fight at the National Championship quarter-finals.
Amongst the juniors, there were debut wins for Korim Hassan and Omar Chaima, while Renik Joseph just lost on points.
