Hendon have the chance to complete a Ryman League double on Saturday when they make their first ever trip to the Keith Tuckey Stadium, the home of troubled Croydon Athletic.
The Rams, whose on-field problems were caused by off-field issues which resulted in almost all of the first team playing staff and the entire back-room staff – except for former Hendon coach JJ Johnson – walking out, have yet to win a match since Dave Garland and Bob Langford returned as the management team.
They played Hendon at Vale Farm two months ago and a Daniel Wishart debut double, plus goals from Jamie Busby and Belal Aite-Ouakrim saw the Greens run out 4–0 winners.
Croydon Athletic started the week one point off the foot of the table, though they, and basement-dwellers Horsham, have games in hand on almost all the teams just above them.
The Rams’ last match ended in a 3–0 defeat against high-flying Sutton United.
On Tuesday night, Hendon return to cup action, this time starting the quest to win the Middlesex Senior Cup.
Standing in the Greens' way at their first hurdle is Enfield Town from the Ryman League Division One North.
The Town lost 2–1 at home Wingate & Finchley last weekend.
