Barnet Saracens Elizabethans crashed to a 50-7 defeat at Stevenage in London Division Three North West.
Stevenage led 26-0 at the interval and there was no way back in the second half, though Glyn Bayley did gain a consolation try for the visitors.
Barnet have a crunch game this Saturday at Byng Road when they host fellow strugglers Fullerians (2.15pm), though they will be without young Dean Gardener who sustained a serious injury at Stevenage.
In Herts/Middx Division One, there was a 20-6 win for Finchley at Old Grammarians, but Mill Hill lost 7-5 at home to UCS Old Boys.
Hendon, in Herts/Middx Division Two North, went down 24-16 at home to Old Haberdashers despite getting off to a promising start.
Tries from Jean Paul Crenin and Chris Towndrow, plus two penalties from the boot of Paul Warner, gave Hendon a 16-7 lead, but the visitors fought back to lead by a point. Hendon dominated the final quarter of the match, with Joel Curry and Ricky Patten leading by example, but the visitors struck against the run of play late on to seal the win.
