Epsom & Ewell 0 Edgware Town 1
Ryman League Division Two
Edgware made hard work of seeing off Division Two strugglers Epsom & Ewell.
Sub Stephen Brady finally broke the deadlock on 73 minutes. The Wares started brightly and Jonathan Donoghue did force a way through, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
Stuart Blackburne then hit the side netting and Richard Morton saw a header cleared off the line. Morton was again denied on the stroke of half time, his shot crashing against the woodwork with the keeper beaten.
It was much the same after the interval until sub Brady combined with Blackburne to hit the winner.
Blackburne was then unlucky to see a chip shave the bar, after spotting the keeper off his line, but the Wares never needed a second goal.
The Wares are now sixth in the table.
Edgware host Egham Town on Saturday. They then entertain Brentford in the Middlesex Senior Cup next Thursday.
