Barnet's miserable run continued at the Recreation Ground this afternoon.
The Bees were soundly beaten by a side whose play-off hopes are getting stronger by the game.
In contrast, Barnet are plummeting fast and a top-seven finish is beginning to look very unlikely.
This was the seventh league defeat on the road in succession. And the Bees have now also gone nine matches without a win.
Barnet boss Ian Hendon made a number of changes from the side that lost to Crewe Alexandra two weeks ago, the last time the Bees were in action.
Joe Devera made a return to the defence, while winger Albert Adomah was passed fit enough to replace the on-loan Dean Sinclair, who dropped to the bench. Yannick Bolasie was preferred on the other wing at the expense of Albert Jarrett. And there was no place for skipper Micah Hyde, youngster Joe Tabiri his replacement. Up front, Paul Furlong returned at the expense of Craig McAllister.
Barnet could have found themselves a goal down within the first few minutes, the referee failing to spot a Kenny Gillet handball inside the area.
In what was a first half of very few chances, the Bees were actually looking slightly the better of the two teams when the deadlock was broken.
However, against the run of play, it was the Shots who struck ten minutes before the interval in what was virtually their first effort on goal.
Marlon Jackson got the better of Gillet down the wing and his cross was bundled home by John Grant from a just a few yards out.
It was a little cruel on the visitors, but not the first time this season the Bees have conceded just before the interval, undoing all their good work.
John O'Flynn did have the chance to equalise almost immediately, but his effort went across the face of goal following good work from Tabiri.
The Bees needed a good start to the second half, knowing the next goal in the game would be crucial.
But it was Aldershot who got it on the hour, Grant firing in his second of the afternoon.
Now Barnet had a mountain to climb and they were forced to throw caution to the wind.
However, all hopes of a fightback were dashed just five minutes later, Andy Sandell cracking home a free-kick to effectively seal the points.
It left the Bees just playing for pride, the match long over as a contest.
With the rain pouring down, the visitors looked like they just wanted the final whistle.
But it was to get worse. With 13 minutes to go, Calum Butcher brought down Danny Hylton and Scott Donnelly added a fourth from the penalty spot.
