Finchley Riders were in the thick of the action in the 'Omloop Radwinter' Race held over 85 miles in Essex on Sunday. Vince Divine and Andy Hastings were in every beakaway move, supported by Daryl Gannon, Ben Price, Piers Brown and veteran Edgar Medellin. With only two laps to go, Divine and Hastings had a one-minute lead over the rest of the field, when unfortunately the former cramped up, leaving the latter out alone. While Hastings held on to his lead for another ten miles, weight of pressure from the bunch finally told, and his final position was fifth, with Ben Price in ninth and Divine further back in 12th.
The day’s tally of points meant that Finchley Racing now move up into second place in the Essex Racing League table.
