Finchley Golf Club champion Gerry O'Donohoe retained his crown on Saturday with a seven-over-par 36-hole total of 151, two shots clear of Gary Marin (78-75) and Jamie Motts (71-82).
O'Donohoe's successful defence means the 46-year-old, who plays off a handicap of four, has now won the title nine times since he first claimed it in 1994.
His morning round of 75, which included birdies at the first, 10th and 17th holes, still left him four behind Motts, whose opening 71 was the only sub-par round of the day. But Motts's lead quickly disappeared in the afternoon as he suffered a quadruple-bogey eight at the sixth and a double-bogey seven at the ninth.
O'Donohoe, meanwhile, recorded an alarm-free round of 76, although he did admit: "The three-foot downhill putts are getting harder and harder."
The trophy was presented by club captain Larry Rosen, who earlier in the day scored a nett 68 off his handicap of 11 to win the medal competition for those not competing in the championship.
