Two Finchley Racing members joined over 10,000 other riders to complete the 'Etape du Tour', where amateurs ride the route of an actual Tour de France stage, one week before the professionals. This year, the stage ended on the massive climb of the Mont Ventoux in Provence. Piers Brown and Paul Bourgoine both finished the course, earning medals for their performances. Meanwhile, back in Britain, Nick Calverey, one of the club's South African contingent, opened his account with a third place in a Cat ¾ race at the 'Hoggenberg' circuit near Hainault in Essex, and followed this up with another third-place-finish at the Hillingdon Racing Circuit on Sunday, in the Team Quest event.
