Barnet shot-put youngster Tom Peacock made a great England debut.
No sooner had the 16-year-old finished celebrating his silver-medal winning performance at the English Schools Track and Field Championships, he was selected as part of the England squad to take on Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland at the Home Countries Schools International match in County Antrim.
His great run of success continued and he took the silver medal wearing his first England shirt, throwing a personal best 15 metres 34cm into the bargain.
Tom’s father, Ian, said: “Fingers crossed that he continues his current progress.”
