Barnet Elizabethans RFC are used to playing in mud.
But it was sand they had to contend with at the weekend.
The club travelled to the 2009 Clacton Beach Rugby Festival, where they have been represented for the past five years.
Barnet Elizabethans provided nine of the 35 teams. Players representing the club ranged from seven years and upwards, with several ladies' teams also competing.
England winger Paul Sackey was in attendance, signing autographs and joining in an impromptu sing-song prior to presenting a trophy to the Barnet Blockbusters.
The fair play award was once again won by a Barnet Elizabethans team, while the ladies won a trip to Twickenham.
More than 200 players and supporters made the trip to the east coast and enjoyed a fantastic day of tag rugby in the sun.
Barnet Elizabethans have a busy summer calendar, and resume training in September for boys and girls from age six upwards. Go to www.barnetrfc.com for more details.
