Barnet winger Jason Puncheon is set to sign for Championship side Plymouth Argyle.
He is expected to complete his move to Home Park this week.
Puncheon has been linked with a number of clubs throughout his Underhill career, his dazzling performances and wonder strikes making him one of the club's most popular players.
Manager Paul Fairclough has insisted Puncheon is good enough to play in the Premier League, but the former MK Dons player will have to wait for that opportunity.
With new star winger Albert Adomah on the transfer list, Fairclough could lose both of his wing wizards before the season kicks off on August 9. Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock has also been looking at Adomah. The Scot personally took in at least one game at Underhill last season.
The fee for Puncheon is expected to be in the region of £250,000.
Sturrock is hoping his new addition will prove an able replacement for Hungarian winger Peter Halmosi, who looks set to be leaving the Pilgrims, with Premier League Hull City reportedly have offered £2million for his services.
Barnet will be kicking off their League Two campaign with a home game against Chesterfield on Saturday, August 9.
A Carling Cup first-round tie at Brighton & Hove Albion will follow on Tuesday, August 12.
The Bees' first away game in the league is on Saturday, August 16, when they make the familiar trip to Rochdale. That particular game was twice postponed last season, prompting the Bees to ask the Football League for an early date to reduce the chances of it happening again this year. There is much optimism for next season. Barnet have already sold more than 700 season tickets, the club's special offer of reduced rates proving to be a great hit with fans.
Meanwhile, assistant manager Ian Hendon, who is still registered as a player and played a handful of games last season, is likely to miss the start of pre-season training.
The defender goes into hospital tomorrow for an operation on his ankle.
Though the players do not take to the football pitch until Tuesday, July 15, when the Bees travel to St Albans City for their first pre-season friendly, they will be donning whites for a game of cricket two days earlier.
The Barnet FC v Barnet Bs CC Twenty/20 match will take place at the latter's Underhill ground (next to the football stadium) on Sunday, July 13.
The annual match is part of Barnet FC's Community Day.
The footballers went close to victory last time and will be determined to go one better this year.
The day traditionally gives fans the chance to meet any new signings. There is also a six-a-side competition for under 12 teams, guided tours of Underhill, fun football competitions and a wide range of activities for all the family.
Gates will open at 12 noon and entry is free. For full details of the Community Day, please visit www.barnetfc.com
