Shaftesbury Barnet runner Lee McConnell has withdrawn from the SPAR European Cup this weekend.
McConnell was to run for GB & NI in the 4x400m relay, though clubmate Marilyn Okoro is still expected to take part in the race at Annecy, France.
Dave Collins, UK Athletics performance director, said: "There is always a possibility of changes to the team leading up to competitions and this situation is only heightened as we are in an Olympic and Paralympic year.
"The European Cup is an important marker in the season, but obviously I fully understand why athletes are being cautious in the run up to Beijing."
Shaftesbury Barnet will still be well represented in France. Emma Ania is to take part in the 100m, while Tasha Danvers will compete in the 400m hurdles. Nony Mordi is lined up to take part in the triple jump.
