Brondesbury and Finchley revived their title hopes with impressive Middlesex County League Division One victories on Saturday.
Brondesbury were comfortable 153-run winners over Winchmore Hill.
Rob Lynch hit a fine 66 as Bron posted a total of 224. Useful contributions from Richard Rawlings (44) and Nick Jones (34) also helped make Hill's job that bit more difficult.
And the hosts certainly struggled with the bat.
Ben Claypole and Toby Sharpe ripped apart their innings, taking five and four wickets respectively, as Hill were bowled out for just 71.
Brondesbury are now up to third in the table, just one place and one point above Finchley, who saw off Hampstead, though this game was much closer.
Finchley bowled out their visitors for 198 and reached that total with just one wicket to spare.
Stanmore went down to champions Ealing.
They were bowled out for 132, with Ealing reaching their target with six wickets to spare.
In Division Three, Barnet Bs were involved in a draw against Wycombe House.
Their opponents made 240-6, with Barnet hanging on at 149-8 when their innings came to a close.
The dominance of the visitors was such that at one stage in their innings the scorebox read 203-1. Poor fielding and dropped catches was the root of Barnet's problems.
Barnet Bs need to bounce back in their next match at Ickenham if they are to keep in touch with the pacesetters.
