Barnet midfielder Ashley Carew will be hoping Barbados can pull off a shock against the United States this weekend.
While all eyes are on Euro 2008, Carew is focusing on the next World Cup.
The Bees winger, who finished the season at right-back, was called up into the Barbados squad for their two forthcoming 2010 World Cup qualifiers against America, but injury, which forced him to miss the final game of the season at Rotherham United, means that he will not now be taking part.
This weekend's match will take place in Los Angeles, with the two sides battling it out in the return leg in the Caribbean seven days later.
Barbados saw off Dominica in the first stage of the qualifying competition, but will be firm underdogs against the Americans.
Though they are relative newcomers to international competition and sit over 100 places below the US on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking list, coach Eyre Sealy can call upon a number of England-based professionals, including Carew, who was given the nod to join the squad last week.
Emerson Boyce of Wigan Athletic played against Dominica, which Barbados won 2-1 on aggregate.
Aston Villa striker Marlon Harewood, and Tom Soares and Paul Ifill of Crystal Palace, are just some of the English brigade eligible to play for the Bajan Braves.
Barnet manager Paul Fairclough has also just recently from the Caribbean, having led the England C side on a mini tour.
