Brondesbury earned their second Middlesex County Cricket League win of the season on Saturday.

They saw off struggling Brentham by four wickets to move up to fifth in the table.

Bron won the toss and decided to bowl, which proved a good decision, with Ben Claypole taking 7-61, their hosts struggling to make 157 in 59 overs.

In reply, Bron reached their target in the 39th over, with Claypole hitting a half century to complete a fine all-round performance.

Meanwhile, Finchley went down to Winchmore Hill.

However, they must have been pretty confident of victory when they reduced their opponents to just 113 in 54 overs.

Rob Woodman took four wickets, while Richard Banham and Sunil Tailor both weighed in with three apiece.

But Finchley also struggled with the bat and were bowled out for just 101 in the 32nd over. Opener Steve Selwood top scored with just 21.

Stanmore had to settle for just one point from a draw against Eastcote.

Eastcote made 248-7 from 62 overs, with Stanmore finishing on 176-8 from their 58 overs.

In Division Three, Barnet Bs won a roller-coaster of a match against Uxbridge.

They are now fourth in the table, but just four points behind the leaders.

Uxbridge were bowled out for 158 and Barnet looked to be in full control.

But, when it came to bat, they proceeded to throw wickets away in what should have been a comfortable run chase. They lost their first five wickets for only 48 runs and were on 121-8, before Patrick Blair, who had earlier taken five wickets, scored a magnificent 33 not out in only 36 balls. He received excellent support from wicketkeeper Andy Kemp and rescued what had see a forlorn task.
