Barnet grappler Jack Cronin won gold in a Jiu Jitsu competition at the world's biggest martial arts exhibition last Saturday.
Jack, 16, from Sherrards Way, Barnet, was one of eight boys from across Europe invited to compete in the under-17 category of the Gracie Invitational Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competition, held as part of the Seni martial arts show at the ExCel Arena.
He won two bouts on the day to secure the medal and the win marks him out as one of the top juniors in the UK.
The Finchley Catholic High School student began training in traditional Jiu Jitsu The Steven McDade academy, in Whetstone, at the age of ten, and became the club's youngest ever black belt at the age of 15.
Since then he has been training in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu discpline pioneered by martial arts legend Royce Gracie.
