Bowls is not just for the older person.
That is the message from Finchley Bowling Club, who are holding an open day to try to prove it.
Club spokesman Eddie Lane said: "It's for all ages and is a very relaxing sport that can be played at all levels. Not a great deal of physical fitness is required."
The open day takes place at the club's base in Etchingham Park Road, Ballards Lane, from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, May 4.
Veteran actor Frank Williams, who starred in a number of television comedies, including Dad's Army, will be making a guest appearance between 1pm and 2pm.
The open day is aimed at adults, with both men and women being given the opportunity to try the sport. All equipment will be provided and admission is free.
There will also be a bric-a-brac, tombola, fun bowling games and refreshments available.
