Barnet manager Paul Fairclough likened his side to a steam train this afternoon.
Fairclough, speaking after the Bees had struck three times in a one-sided second half to see off Bury, said it took his troops a while to get going.
"You have to get a steam train up to 212 to move. If you are only up to 211, it's not going to move. We needed to find that one degree and, when we did, we were an unstoppable force."
He added: "It was pleasing. Bury have had a fantastic run and they looked a good side. They were certainly the better side in the opening 30 minutes."
Fairclough was delighted for Adam Birchall, whose brace did the damage.
"He has done exceptionally well lately. He was where he needed to be at the right time. We know what he is capable of doing and he could have had a hat-trick."
The Barnet manager said he was now looking forward to Tuesday's trip to Rochdale.
"We will go there with optimism and enthusiasm. It's now three defeats in 13 and we are unbeaten in five. We want to finish on a high in preparation for next season."
Meanwhile, Fairclough said he was reasonably happy with his squad and did not expect to make too many changes in the summer.
"The majority of players are contracted and I don't envisage massive changes. I'm just looking for three or four players to help build the squad," he said.
