Hendon made it 10 wins from 10 in the Herts/Middlesex 1 league after thrashing Wasps FC 56-0 on Saturday.
Will Theaker took the biggest haul of points for his side with four tries, while Luke Pollard, Dan Watterson, Rob Casey, Junior Farao, Mike Culhane and Donal O’Sullivan also went over for the hosts.
A strong opening period from Hendon saw them take the lead after just 10 minutes when Pollard made it 5-0 from out wide, and by using the wind and slope to their advantage they soon added another five-point score when O’Sullivan laid off for Theaker to go over.
A brilliant run by Casey set up Watterson to make it 15-0 on the half hour mark and Theaker then added the bonus-point try for Hendon as he ran through a gap in the Wasps defence.
Quick thinking from Cian Hynes at a tap penalty set up Casey for his try, which the former converted, and he did the same for the final try of the half which was scored by Farao.
Despite Wasps being camped in Hendon territory at the start of the half, Theaker managed to grab his third try of the day, with the extras added by Hynes.
Culhane was on hand to take Hendon’s tally up to 46 later in the half before O’Sullivan added another five, and things were rounded off at the end when Theaker ran over for his fourth.
The win extends Hendon’s lead over St Albans to 13 points, while their next game comes against struggling Verulamians this Saturday, who have won just once all season.
