Hendon exited the Southern League Challenge Cup on Tuesday night after a 5-1 defeat away at Needham Market.
Billy Hunt’s brace put the hosts 2-0 up at the break before further goals from Luke Ingram and Callum Page made it four. Shaun Lucien pulled one back with minutes to go, but Jamahl Godward restored the four-goal cushion in stoppage time.
Needham took the lead when an initial effort was kept out by Rihards Matrevics only for the rebound to be lashed in by Hunt from the edge of the area.
Hunt soon added his second when he scuffed home a cut-back from the byline.
Within five minutes of the second half starting, the Marketmen effectively ended the game when Ingram looped an effort over Matrevics after Hendon failed to deal with a free-kick.
Page then scored his first goal for the hosts from the penalty spot before Lucien grabbed a consolation with a beautiful curling free-kick.
Godward, though, made it five in stoppage time to add some gloss to the result.
