Ryman League Division One North round-up
Potters Bar Town earned a 2-2 draw at home to Waltham Abbey on Saturday.
In a typical end-of-season, mid-table game the Scholars took the lead just before half-time with a good strike from Daniel Talbot. Poor defending saw the visitors equalise and then take the lead early in the second half, before a spirited comeback resulted in a Gabriel Fanibuyan equaliser three minutes from time.
Manager Andy Leese was disappointed with the way his side relinquished the lead.
He said: "The only positive was we showed some character in the last 20 minutes. We will try to improve in the remaining games to finish on a high."
Potters Bar travel to Canvey Island on Saturday for their penultimate league fixture.
Wingate & Finchley had a disappointing few days.
The Blues went down 3-0 at Great Wakering Rovers on Tuesday night, though the final score was not a true reflection of the game, the hosts' three goals all coming in the final half-hour.
Wingate did everything but score, coming up against some fine goalkeeping from Louis Green.
The sides meet again this Saturday at the Harry Abrahams Stadium.
Wingate also went down at the weekend, a Guy Morris penalty proving to be a consolation in the 2-1 defeat at Wivenhoe Town.
Adam Lee's side remain in a comfortable mid-table position.
