Winger Adam Mekki has left Barnet with immediate effect in order 'to pursue other first team opportunities'.
The 23-year-old joined the Bees on a non-contract basis after leaving Aldershot Town in the summer but has found playing time hard to come by.
Head coach Martin Allen had initially expressed a desire to sign the Chester-born wideman to a full-time contract until Christmas but eventually reversed his decision.
Mekki had been made available for transfer by Bees boss Allen at the beginning of December but could not play for other teams until January, despite not being paid a salary by Barnet.
Speaking earlier in the month, Allen said of his decision to allow Mekki to leave The Hive: "I just felt for Adam it would be better for him to seek a club where he can play regularly and get himself half-a-dozen goals between now and the end of the season.
"It was difficult to tell him because he has not been paid apart from his expenses but I feel right morally to help."
In total Mekki made four starts and seven substitute appearances in all competitions, the last of which came against Concord Rangers in the FA Trophy on December 16.
