Barnet have been handed a big boost as talented youngsters Luke Gambin and Elliot Johnson have signed long-term deals with the Bees.
Both players have come through the Barnet youth system. Johnson, 18, broke into the Bees first team last season and quickly established himself as the club’s first choice left-back with a series of mature performances.
He made 26 appearances for Barnet and scored his first professional in a 3-2 defeat at Accrington Stanley.
Winger Gambin also broke into the Bees first team last season and played 11 times, scoring twice.
Speaking to the Barnet website, Gambin said: He said: “I am over the moon to be rewarded with a new contract at Barnet.
“The last six months have happened very fast, I didn’t think at the back end of last season I would be involved as much as I was but it was great to get on and play a couple of games.”
He continued: “This season I want to start strongly and make the position my own. There is a lot of competition in the squad and we will all work hard to ensure we are the ones who are picked.
“As a team we want to win our first few games and play the football we want to and I believe the squad is perfectly capable of doing that.”
