Barnet are set to make several changes to their starting line-up for tonight’s trip to Hitchin Town with Edgar Davids saying the players who started against MK Dons are unlikely to feature.
The Bees were beaten 4-1 by the Dons on Saturday despite playing well for the majority of the contest. Five players who started that game played 90 minutes while two others were withdrawn in the final moments.
With the Skill Premier season set to begin in 12 days, Davids says it is important all the players in the Bees squad are given vital minutes on the pitch.-
He said: “You can’t play everybody. You have to make choices and rotate.
“Some guys who were not fit for Saturday will have to play on Tuesday. Everybody has to build the fitness level up. So if you played on Saturday then it is unlikely you will play on Tuesday.
“We are going to need everyone and everyone has to be fit. Everyone also has to play well because the best players play. If you do well on Tuesday then you might start at the beginning of the season.”
