Hendon Rugby Club’s coach Chris Palmer says he is looking forward to the next season “with a great deal of excitement” after the club secured a deal to use Saracens’ Allianz Park as their training base next season.
The players will continue to train for the next month at their Hendon Club pitches at Copthall before the sessions at Allianz Park begin in late August.
Palmer said: “We had the ability to train on the Allianz pitch a few times last season and the benefits in terms of what we could work on and do, coupled with the enjoyment the players got out of these sessions translated into tangible benefits on the pitch on match days.
“Therefore it is with a great deal of excitement that I look forward to the new season, as having secured what is probably the UK’s best rugby playing surface to train on all season long.”
President David Gershlick: “After supporting the Saracens move to Copthall, Hendon were offered a number of training sessions on the artificial surface at Allianz Park last season. As a junior club we immediately saw the potential of being able to utilise the Saracens facility going forward.”
