Barnet Football Club is seeking permission to raise the height of its floodlights at The Hive.
The Bees have applied to Harrow Borough Council to approve that and other amendments to its planning conditions, but officers have recommended the proposals be refused.
The amendments include the extension of the west stand and the relocation of the southern floodlights at the Camrose Avenue facility in Edgware.
A special planning meeting has been scheduled on August 1 for the authority’s planning committee to consider the plans.
Meanwhile, the club will find out this evening if it has been granted permission to hold events in the West Stand at the Hive.
The club wants to extend its current licence for the East Stand to the other side of the stadium and to the pitch.
If approved, the club will be permitted to sell alcohol, late night refreshment and hold regulated entertainment between midday and 3am seven days a week.
The licence would also permit regulated entertainment on the pitch between midday and 10.30pm, Monday to Sunday.
