Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous said the Bees’ first match at The Hive Stadium proved the club is “professional in what we do”.
Barnet faced Ipswich Town on Saturday in the first official game at the Bees’ new home.
A crowd of just under 1,400 took in the new surroundings and watched the Tractor Boys complete a 1-0 victory thanks to a David McGoldrick header.
While the Bees weren’t able to get off to a winning start at the stadium, Kleanthous said it had been a good day for the club.
“There were a few teething problems that we need to deal with but it is definitely a good start,” he explained.
“I am hoping people will see that we are professional in what we do. We had almost 1,400 people here which is only a little less than we have for a normal league match.
“Today the tube wasn’t working and the buses which will bring fans from Underhill aren’t yet running, but we got people in and out without issue. We have done a pretty good job.”
Kleanthous added promotion back to the Football League “has to be the aim” this season and is pleased with the how the Bees side is taking shape.
He said: “You can’t take too much notice of friendly results but we played well (on Saturday). We can play good football, there is no doubt about that, and we look very competent.
“But we will have to see how we get on when our league campaign starts here against Chester.”
