Promising table tennis player Rhoda Boadu was crowned Under-16 girls champion at the London Schools’ Table Tennis Championship.
Boadu, who attends the London Academy in Edgware, came out on top in the under-16 singles competition at the event which was held at Sports Dock, University of East London, on July 6.
The competition was hosted by the English Table Tennis Association and was supported by the Jack Petchey Foundation.
Fourteen-year-old Rhoda said: "I can’t believe I am the Under-16 Champion. I love playing table tennis and think it is a great sport. I really enjoyed this competition as you get to plays different players around London."
More than 95 players represented 38 schools from across London at the event which consisted of group matches before a knockout faze.
Trudy Kilcullen, chief operations officer at the Jack Petchey Foundation said: "The skills and talent on show from young people in London makes us proud to be associated with ETTA and this superb competition.
"Every player is a winner and showed great determination."
