Braces from Mark Byrne and trialist Marciano Mengerink helped Barnet complete a 4-1 victory against Hemel Hempstead in a behind closed doors friendly at The Hive.
The Bees went ahead in the 12th minute when Byrne fired home a free-kick into the top corner from 35 yards.
Marciano then had a shot saved but soon after got his name on the scoresheet as a Harry Crawford strike rebounded into his path and he converted from close range.
The away side responded and saw a shot hit the post before Crawford had a header cleared off the line.
Marciano then had a header ruled out for offside but the Bees did add a third before the break as Byrne slotted home after good work by Mauro Vilhete.
Several changes were made at the interval but it didn't affect the Barnet performance and a fourth goal was added when Marciano's low shot ended in the top corner after striking the Hemel goalkeeper.
Hemel did pull a goal back in the second period through Ben Pattie and the contest proved a good run out for the players who are in action on Saturday as the Bees take on Ipswich Town at The Hive Stadium.
Barnet: Stack; Yiadom, Acheampong, Stephens, Johnson; Vilhete, Weston, Byrne, Gambin; Crawford, Marciano.
