Stanmore are through to the second round of the Conference Cup after they claimed a comfortable seven-wicket victory against Enfield on Sunday.

Enfield reached a total of 142 all out with Derek Allen top-scoring on 34, while tail-ender Tom Blot added 20.

The wickets were shared out among the Stanmore bowlers with Darshan Malde taking two for 35, Abishek Kulkarni claiming four for 30 and Chanmeet Kohli securing two for 16.

The Stanmore batsmen started their innings in good touch and had put on 31 before Navin Samarakoon (11) was caught by Lee Robertson off the bowling of Bolt.

The runs continued to flow for Stanmore and opener Omar Anwar reached 34 before being dismissed.

Steve Mehra (27) and Jimi Chialoufous (50 not out) got Stanmore to their target for the loss of just three wickets.

On Saturday, Stanmore were in Middlesex County League Division One action and had to settle for a draw against Richmond.

Stanmore were inserted but performed well and posted a strong total of 229. Jake Whiteaker struck the top score with 82.

Richmond batted solidly throughout their innings but were not scoring at a rate which would threaten the Stanmore total. They ended on 194 for eight from their 55 overs to seal the draw.
