Potters Bar suffered a three-wicket defeat against Tring in Home Counties Premier League Division One.

Bar lost the toss and were inserted. Their openers suffered mixed fortunes, with Tom Coughlan dismissed without troubling the score but David Breeze made 73 off 105 balls.

Further big scores from Tanweer Sikandar (81) and Daniel Pascoe (57) followed further down the order and Bar ended on 239 for four from their 50 overs.

Tring’s response started slowly with Keith Dutch bowled by Sikandar for a duck. However, William Jones, in at number three, scored 74 off 94 balls and he was supported by Michael Payne, who notched a quick-fire 60 from 58 balls faced.

The batsmen continued to score regularly and Tring reached their target in the 48th over. Pascoe was the pick of the Bar bowlers as he took two for 37.
