A dominant performance from Finchley ABC boxer Adam Chaima saw him clinch victory in his London Junior ABA final against West Ham ABC fighter Kevin Ravell.

From the opening bell the difference in class was obvious, with Chaima rocking Ravell’s head back with every attack he made.

As the rounds developed, Ravell’s persistence in refusing to give up under Chaima’s bombardment was a testament to his fitness.

But at the final bell Ravell sank to his knees in exhaustion and it was a formality when Chaima was announced a unanimous winner.

Elsewhere, Finchley fighters returned from a trip to Las Vegas where a team of their boxers competed against the Americans at the Silver Nugget Casino.

Schoolboy Reece Collins was first in action and won a points decision over Ozzie Wilson but junior Shane Hill’s lacklustre display saw him beaten on points by Luis Castaneda.

Alexander Zendra suffered a points defeat to Timothy Lee but Finchley’s 2012 Ghanaian champion Norris Thompson won his bout against Kevin Johnson. Former ABA national champion Ben Ileyemi won on points in a battle of the uppercuts against fellow heavyweight Sam Bagdassarian.

Lucy Murphy was adjudged unlucky to have lost a close points decision to Lisa Porter in her bout.

Murphy dropped Porter with a big right hand in the first round and appeared to be the busier fighter throughout the contest.
