Keanu Marsh-Brown played just 22 minutes on his Barnet debut but the former Fulham youngster certainly made an impression.

The 20-year-old replaced Jon Nurse in the second half of Barnet’s match at AFC Wimbledon on Monday and his pace immediately caused the Dons defence problems.

With five minutes of the game remaining, Marsh-Brown dispossessed Chris Hussey 25 yards out and sprinted towards goal. He released a low shot which was deflected past goalkeeper John Sullivan and into the net.

It proved to be the winner and the youngster is pleased to have made an instant impact for the Bees.

He said: "I have been training with the first team and the under-21s for the last couple of weeks and the lads in the dressing room have welcomed me into the squad.

"As long as you are playing and that you are happy then you get the best of your ability. That will be shown on the pitch.

"It was a good debut and it was nice to get on. The fans were good to me and before I went on and Kenny (Brown) and Uli (Landvreugd) just told me to get on the pitch and be direct.

"It could be a massive three points considering our place in the table so hopefully we can push on."

Since leaving Fulham in November 2011, Marsh-Brown has had spells in League One with Oldham Athletic and Yeovil Town.

He admits the last year and a half has been "quite frustrating" but he hopes to settle with the Bees.

He explained: "I played quite a few games for Yeovil but then I was out the manager’s plans. I missed quite a lot of football so to be back involved at a club is nice.

"I just want to play as many games and goal as many goals as possible. Then we will see what happens next season. I would happy to stay at Barnet."
