Edgar Davids believes that “referees are not fair to Barnet” after the Bees had two players dismissed in their 0-0 draw against Dagenham & Redbridge.
Kyle de Silva was sent off for a foul on Luke Wilkinson in the 87th minute and Barry Fuller was shown a red card after the final whistle for foul and abusive language, which included a gesture, aimed at Referee Keith Hill.
Davids said that “knowing Barry I don’t believe that” and added: “What I feel lately is that the referees are not fair to Barnet and that is me, as a player, expressing my disappointment because this is not the first time.
“A couple of times now I have seen referees penalise Barnet and then I think do they want us to fail?”
He continued: “I feel it is a personal thing now. It is not the first, second or third time. Enough is enough. I do not like this and in my opinion it is a bit focused on Barnet.
“We already have a tough time and tough period ahead. We can’t have this influencing our team as well.”
Barnet take on AFC Wimbledon on Easter Monday and when asked about the fixture the Bees head coach said: “We have a difficult game away at Wimbledon and you never know how the referee will do the match. I do not know the instructions he will get from the FA.”
