Impressive displays from Finchley ABC fighters saw three victories from three bouts at the Sporting Ring ABC show in Camberley.
Mason Smith took on Eli Saunders over four two-minute rounds and won a points decision. To put the result beyond doubt Smith dropped Saunders with a big right hand in the last round.
Finchley junior Omar Chaima boxed a return against Heart of Portsmouth ABC’s Jake Fenton.
Chaima had narrowly beaten Fenton in the Schoolboy Championships in February but on this occasion threw more punches to run out a unanimous points winner.
Patrick Boyce took on home fighter Tony Rusher, who he’d previously beaten in February, and this time boxed with no fitness worries to record his second win on points. At the Smallheath ABC in Birmingham, Reece Collins produced a solid display to defeat Isral McKenzie.
Mohammed Ghaib took on Dave Perry at the St Ives ABC show and suffered a points defeat after an uncharacteristically sluggish display.
Finchley fighter Darren Redmond made his debut against Ile Llabjani and held his own during the bout. However, he suffered a points defeat.
Jonathan Kumuteo was a little too keen to try and stop his opponent, George Gumanda of Haringey ABC, and kept loading up punches instead of using his boxing skills. Kumuteo was adjudged to have lost on points.
Cruiserweight Ossie Jervier was back in action and comfortably out-boxed Haringey ABC’s Taz Boryozka for a points win.
Junior Martin Mcdonnagh had his first bout for the club but found he was a little out of range with his punches and lost on points to Michael Mongon of Hooks ABC.
