Young Barnet striker George Sykes was named the League Two Apprentice of the Year at last night's Football League Awards.
Sykes has made two appearances for the Bees this season, against Bristol Rovers in a 1-1 draw and in the 1-0 defeat away at Aldershot Town.
The 18-year-old was playing Sunday league football before joining Barnet at Under-16 level and was top scorer for the Under-18s during the 2011/12 campaign with 24 goals.
After receiving the award, Sykes said: "It just shows if you work as hard as you can, you give yourself a chance"
