In his illustrious career Edgar Davids has won the Champions League and celebrated title victories in Italy and the Netherlands.
The Dutch international insists though, that helping Barnet avoid relegation from League Two this season would be a prize he would “cherish”.
When Davids surprisingly joined the club last October the Bees were bottom of the table. They had taken just three points from 12 matches and were seven points from safety.
After Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory over Fleetwood Town at Underhill, Barnet are 21st and have 43 points on the board.
It’s been a remarkable turnaround but the Bees are not yet safe. “Keeping Barnet in the league would definitely be like winning a big prize,” Davids said.
“At the end of the day we started with so few points but we are in a much better position now.
“We have picked up a lot of points and the playing style has improved. So I am happy to see that development.
“But as a manager to keep Barnet in this league would be a prize I would cherish.”
