Oakleigh Park Tennis Club’s members braved wet and cold conditions to compete in the club’s inter tennis finals on Sunday.
The men’s doubles was won by Ollie Shirbini and Bert Shelley, who defeated Roger Lane and David Newland 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
In the ladies’ doubles, Alexa Wayne and Angie Temple beat Cathy Standing and Judy May in a very close match which finished 7-5, 6-4.
In the mixed doubles, Shirbini and Angie Temple overcame Roger Lane and Carol Sullivan 6-4, 6-1.
In the junior competitions, Kyle Hardy defeated Ollie Shirbini 7-6 7-5, Dan Hussein claimed a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Stefan Kosta, while Gaby Hristozova won 6-1, 6-0 against Sophie Arias.
The club will be running children’s tennis camps over the Easter holidays and some new children and adult classes start after Easter.
