Saracens coach Alex Sanderson says the young players who suffered defeat in the LV=Cup semi-final need to learn quickly before they can start for the first team on a regular basis.
The Men in Black started with six players aged 23 or younger against Sale Sharks but it didn't pay off as Sarries' lost 21-15 at the Salford City Stadium.
Sanderson said: "You have to understand a lot of these boys will be starting next year, they're going to come through so they have to learn those mistakes quickly.
"You tend to learn more from your losses than you do from your wins and I think there's quite a lot to take from it.
"When the emotion dies down and we'll have a look on the video I think there's a lot we can learn from our breakdown.
"If we want to keep the ball against the wind we have to be a bit cuter on that, a bit more accurate.
"And our discipline in these games, with a wind like that it's 50 metres or three points - every mistake you make is magnified in these bigger games and these young lads have to learn that."
Sanderson though was pleased with his players who he believes have an exciting future and singled out prop Nick Auterac for special praise.
"He's been playing well all season, he's been going really well and because Mako [Vunipola] has been called up and Rhys Gill has been injured, Nick's had to step up," the Sarries coach continued.
"A few weeks ago he turned Gloucester over on our own line - he's a really exciting prospect as is Jamie George, George Kruis - all these guys who've been through our ranks for years.
"That's a positive we can take from it, that these guys can do a job. They've got us to this stage in the tournament and maybe next year we can go a stage further."
