Schoolchildren sounded a ram’s horn as they brought in the Jewish New Year with elderly people at a care home in Hendon yesterday.
Pupils from the Independent Jewish Day School visited Jewish Care’s Clore Manor in Great North Way to mark Rosh Hashanah.
The children chatted to residents, played the horn, known as a shofar, and shared traditional food eaten at New Year including honey cakes and apples and honey.
