The 13-year-old brother of a motorcyclist killed when his bike veered off the road and hit a sign post near Staples Corner has spoken of his shock.

Mourad Keskas, 22, died at the scene of the crash on the eastbound entry slip road of the North Circular at 1.45am on Saturday.

It is believed that the University of East London student, who lived in Hermitage Lane, Golders Green, lost control of his Suzuki and hit the curb before being thrown onto the pavement.

The international relations student was on his way home from dinner with some friends in Hendon when he died.

Karim Keskas, 13, the biker’s brother, said: “It was obviously a shock when we heard what had happened.

“You don’t think it will happen to you.

“We were the first people to lay flowers at the scene and we have been back since to see the other tributes people have left.”

The Compton School student added: “We have had lots of friends and family round to help us which has made it a little easier for my parents.”

Mr Keskas was born in Algeria and moved to Golders Green when he was two.

The Arsenal fan lived with his parents and two brothers and had attended East Barnet School in Chestnut Grove, East Barnet.

He was an enthusiastic member of the Virgin Active gym in Hendon Central and also enjoyed boxing.

Mr Keskas’s uncle, Belkacem Rahmouni, 60, said: “He was a wonderful, happy man. He was so good.

“He was smiling all the time and telling jokes.

“Everybody loved him. He was just a young man with so many dreams.”

On Friday Mr Keskas’s family will fly his body to Algeria for a funeral.

Police are appealing for witnesses of the crash to call them on 0208 8421817.
