A council vote on reopening Friern Barnet Library could take place tomorrow.
Barnet Labour group has tabled an emergency motion for the full council meeting calling on the former library in Friern Barnet Road to be resurrected.
The move comes after squatters broke into the building last week and began negotiations with the council to open their own community library.
If the ruling Conservative group accepts the motion, members will be offered the chance to vote on the future of the popular facility.
The closure of the building in April came after a long fight by campaigners, who gathered a petition of 4,300 signatures to keep it open.
