Teenagers can volunteer to be a reading role model in Potters Bar this summer.
Young people, aged 14 to 18, can sign up to support thousands of children in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.
The challenge aims to encourage children to read books and meet library staff and volunteers to talk about what they have read.
Young volunteers are needed during July and August to help register children for the challenge and encourage them to discuss their chosen books at Oakmere Library in High Street.
They will also help give out give out awards and certificates at a special presentation ceremony.
Volunteers will need to complete a total of ten hours which can be logged towards a national volunteering award.
The deadline to register is Thursday, June 28. To sign up, email srcvolunteers@hertscc.gov.uk
